A strong start Topside does not require winning every fight. Focus on learning the terrain, finding useful supplies, and making it home.
01. Choose One ObjectivePick one quest step or a short shopping list. Plan a compact route with a clear return point instead of trying to explore the whole map in one round. |
02. Bring a Replaceable KitA Free Loadout can help you learn a map. It has no Safe Pocket, so do not assume valuable finds are protected. With a custom kit, remember healing supplies and compatible ammunition. |
03. Locate Your Exit EarlyCheck your return direction before looting. Plan a second approach in case a fight blocks the route you intended to use. |
04. Listen Before MovingPause before opening a door, crossing a street, or firing. When you hear combat, consider whether entering that area actually serves your objective. |
05. Bring Your Progress HomeOnce your objective is complete, avoid risking everything for one extra building. Back home, sort your loot, restock, and choose one improvement for the next run. |
Your First Success MetricTrack successful returns before kill counts. A modest route you can repeat reliably is more useful than a spectacular loot run you cannot sustain. |
