WOW TBC CLASSIC / GUIDE 08
Good enhancements help you get more from your equipment. That does not mean buying the most expensive gem for every piece or collecting every recipe. Match spending to your goals.
01. Choose Professions for a PurposeDecide whether you prioritize gathering, making supplies, crafting equipment or earning gold. Choose your profession pairing accordingly. Consider leveling costs alongside potential raid or PvP benefits. |
02. Break the Road to 375 into StagesCheck training and recipe requirements as you progress. Prioritize milestones that unlock useful products. Weigh the benefit before spending your entire flying or raid budget on expensive final skill points. |
03. Separate Gems from Socket BonusesMatching ordinary socket colors can activate a bonus, but a suitable off-color gem may be stronger when the bonus is weak. Compare the total useful stats rather than choosing by color alone. |
04. Verify Meta Gem ActivationA meta gem requires a meta socket and must meet its listed color conditions. Recheck activation after changing gear. A gem can count toward meta requirements even when it does not match its socket’s bonus color. |
05. Budget for Enchants and RecipesPrioritize pieces you expect to keep. Check Aldor/Scryer shoulder enhancements and other reputation rewards. Value materials at their market price when crafting; gathering them yourself does not make them free. |
Practical TipAfter equipping an upgrade, check gems, meta activation and enchants. A single item change can affect the rest of your gem setup. |
Version Note(TBC’s base profession skill cap is 375, with racial bonuses potentially affecting skill. Recipe and gem availability depends on phase; do not assume every later-content option is already available.) |
