WOW TBC CLASSIC / GUIDE 03
Unlocking a Heroic and being ready for it are separate steps. Once you have access, check your role equipment, defensive tools and the group’s pulling plan.
01. Learn the Layout on NormalLearn the route, dangerous enemies and core boss mechanics. Collect relevant quests beforehand. Include reputation and quest rewards when judging a run’s value, rather than focusing only on boss drops. |
02. Separate Heroic Access from Door KeysCheck the reputation key needed for Heroic difficulty. A dungeon door requiring its own key or opening method is a separate issue. Confirm both access and the entrance plan before joining. |
03. Assign Jobs Before PullingAgree on the tank’s target, crowd control and interrupt order. Set the pace around healer mana. Unnecessary area damage that breaks control can quickly complicate a manageable pull. |
04. Prepare for Your Actual RoleBring equipment and supplies for your role. Use defensives before a situation becomes desperate. Ask for a brief explanation of unfamiliar bosses and choose a group comfortable with your experience level. |
05. Agree on the Run’s GoalAgree on bosses, quests and loot rules at the start. Plan Badge of Justice spending around your role goals. Check your instance information before assuming you can repeat the same content immediately. |
Practical TipFor your first Heroic, choose a dungeon you already know on Normal. That lets you focus on the difficulty increase without also learning the entire route. |
Version Note(Anniversary supports transferring Heroic access keys to alts. This does not mean every door key or reputation level is automatically shared. See Guide 04 for the access plan.) |
