WOW TBC CLASSIC / GUIDE 02
Your best main is not simply the class at the top of a ranking. Choose one that fits your schedule, your group and the responsibilities you enjoy.
01. Choose Your Faction and CommunityCheck your friends’ realm and faction. Learn which roles your guild needs, but avoid investing in a class you dislike solely for temporary demand. A reliable group matters over the long term. |
02. Consider TBC’s Race OptionsBlood Elves bring Paladins to the Horde, while Draenei bring Shamans to the Alliance. Evaluate racials against your PvE or PvP goals, alongside appearance and enjoyment. |
03. Understand the Role’s ResponsibilitiesTanks manage pulls, healers manage resources, and damage dealers must handle targets and utility. Raid contribution is more than damage totals: learn your control, dispels and support tools too. |
04. Choose a Build for the ContentDo not assume one talent setup is ideal for leveling, Heroics, raids and Arena. Start with an Anniversary-appropriate build, understand its key talents and check its equipment assumptions. |
05. Use Dual Spec with a PlanReserve your second talent setup for a role you will actually play. Check trainer requirements and review gear, action bars and assignments after switching. A second build does not replace suitable equipment. |
Practical TipRank your priorities across solo play, group roles and PvP. Then briefly try classes that match most of those goals before choosing a main. |
Version Note(Anniversary includes Dual Spec. Features absent from original 2007 TBC or the 2021 version may be described differently in older guides. This package follows Anniversary rules.) |
