WOW RETAIL / GUIDE 09
PvP improvement does not require learning every opponent at once. Start by using your own tools, staying connected to your team and surviving pressure.
01. Start with One ModeChoose an arena or battleground focus. Repeating one format helps you learn its maps, objectives and team patterns more quickly. |
02. Review PvP EquipmentCheck current Honor and Conquest vendor options. Read the PvP details on item tooltips rather than choosing solely by the general item-level number in your bags. |
03. Set Talents and Control ToolsReview PvP talents for your chosen mode. Keep crowd control, interrupts and tools for escaping control on accessible keys. |
04. Protect Your PositionTrack your healer’s line of sight and your team’s distance. Before chasing an opponent away from support, decide whether the target is worth the risk. |
05. Sequence Your DefensivesAvoid spending every defensive on the same pressure window. Keep a response for major enemy attacks and review wasted cooldowns after the match. |
Practical TipAfter each match, ask whether positioning, late defensives or target choice caused the loss. |
Important Note(In 12.1, Arena Training Grounds provides 3v3 practice against bots. Use it to rehearse basic controls and habits before rated play.) |
