PATH OF EXILE 2 / GUIDE 03
Adding more gems does not automatically improve a build. Check how each choice changes your skill’s behaviour and resource requirements.
01. Read Your Main Skill’s TagsCheck tags such as Attack, Spell and Projectile. Choose a Support for the skills it can actually affect, rather than its name alone. |
02. Account for Support Trade-offsA damage increase may change costs, speed or activation conditions. Test a new Support through several fights before treating it as an upgrade. |
03. Separate Spirit from ManaSpirit is capacity reserved for persistent effects. Mana is a resource spent on active skills; increasing one does not automatically solve problems with the other. |
04. Recheck Requirements After Gear ChangesEquipment swaps can reduce attributes or available resources. For disabled gems, check level, attributes, weapon requirements and reservation conditions in order. |
05. Test Sustained Boss DamageA setup that works comfortably against packs may run out of resources during a long boss fight. Evaluate sustained use as well as short bursts. |
Practical TipIf a skill stops working after a change, remove the last Support you added and test again. Isolating one variable makes troubleshooting easier. |
Patch and League Note(Version note: Patch 0.3.0 removed the character-wide single-copy Support restriction. This does not mean every Support is compatible with every skill.) |
