A useful item solves a real problem for your character. Judge each upgrade by its effect on the complete setup, not one impressive number.
01. Identify Your Weakest LinkAre you missing damage, running out of resources or dying too often? Describe the problem you want to solve before starting to shop. |
02. Check ResistancesReview your character panel whenever you replace equipment. A damage upgrade should not quietly reopen a defensive gap that the old item covered. |
03. Combine Defensive LayersConsider your Life or Energy Shield pool alongside prevention and recovery. One large defensive value is not an answer to every threat. |
04. Match the Weapon to Your SkillAttack and spell builds do not benefit equally from the same weapon stats. Account for how much you are paying for damage types you never use. |
05. Test After Each SwapConfirm that your gems remain active, your skills are usable and your defences still work. Compare performance in familiar content before increasing difficulty. |
Practical TipInclude the cost of fixing any new resistance or attribute gaps when deciding whether an item is an affordable upgrade. |
Patch and League Note(Version note: Runic Ward is a separate defensive mechanic. Do not assume bonuses naming Armour, Evasion and Energy Shield also improve it.) |
