PoE 1 From First Maps to Steady Progress

Complete PoE 1 Atlas bonuses, check map modifiers and build a mapping route your character can handle.

PATH OF EXILE / GUIDE 05

You do not need to chase the highest tier immediately. New completions and reliable runs form the foundation of Atlas progress.

01. Target Missing Bonuses

Inspect incomplete maps on your Atlas. Before repeating a map, consider whether another available map can grant a new bonus.

02. Use the Required Rarity

For regular Atlas bonuses, complete white-tier maps as magic, yellow-tier maps as rare, and red-tier maps as rare and corrupted.

03. Read Modifiers Before Opening

Learn which reflect, recovery or resource restrictions your build cannot handle. Map tier alone does not tell you whether a run is safe.

04. Give Atlas Points a Purpose

Support progression and a small selection of mechanics early on. Focus on activities you can complete instead of spreading points across everything.

05. Raise Difficulty Gradually

Increase investment after similar maps become comfortable. If failed runs increase, review modifiers and defence before pushing further.

Practical Tip

Separating Atlas-completion sessions from farming sessions makes resource use easier to track.

Important Note

(Corruption can change a map’s properties. Read its modifiers again afterwards; its previous version being safe is not enough.)
