Diablo 4 Beginner Guide: Plan Your 1–70 Journey

Plan your Diablo 4 leveling route, choose a manageable difficulty and prepare the essentials before moving into endgame.

DIABLO IV / GUIDE 01

Efficient progress in Sanctuary starts with content you can finish consistently. A functioning build and a clear route matter more than selecting the hardest setting.

01. Choose Your Starting Route

Follow the story if this is your first playthrough. If Campaign Skip is available, plan activities around seasonal objectives; do not assume every starting option is unlocked on your account.

02. Keep the Difficulty Manageable

Lower difficulty when ordinary enemies take too long or deaths become frequent. Compare completion times across several runs instead of judging only the displayed reward bonus.

03. Focus on One Damage Source

Choose a main skill and use other slots for resources, movement and protection. Avoid splitting investment between attacks that do not support each other.

04. Combine Progress with Rewards

Check seasonal objectives for goals that match your current activity. Claim completed rewards and review how new equipment affects your skills.

05. Prepare for Endgame

Review weapons, defences and resource use. Before raising difficulty, confirm that you can complete several clean runs at your current setting.

Practical Tip

Give each session one main goal: levels, an unlock or an equipment upgrade. Keep inventory sorting to short, planned breaks.

Season and Expansion Note

(The current character cap is 70. Do not directly reuse old 1–100 or 1–60 routes; expansion campaign access depends on ownership.)
