The Abyss can make a strong PvE character feel suddenly fragile. That is normal: the problem is not always your item level. Player movement, escape routes, target focus and local numbers matter more here than they do in a scripted dungeon.
Start with a reason to be there
Before entering Reshanta, decide whether you are learning the map, pursuing an objective or joining an organized fight. Travel with a group when possible, keep your route out in mind, and do not chase one low-health opponent into an area you cannot leave. NC has revised Abyss matching, point loss, rewards and zone rules more than once, so check the current mode description.
Separate progress from hero moments
In January 2026, NC announced increased Kina/Kinah and Abyss Point rewards in Middle Abyss Reshanta. Chapter 1 later added Chaotic Upper Reshanta with capped item level and combat power, plus Battlefield: Siege. Those are different environments. For your first sessions, useful progress may be as simple as learning one objective route and dying less often. The scoreboard improves after your decisions do.
After a session, review two deaths rather than every fight. Note where your group was, whether you had an escape route, and whether you used a defensive tool too early. These are details you can change next time. A generic “best Abyss build” cannot tell you that the bridge you crossed alone was the real problem.
