PATH OF EXILE 2 / GUIDE 02
A strong starting character should be enjoyable to play and practical to gear. Judge the full build before committing to its class.
01. Choose Your PlaystyleDecide whether you prefer melee, ranged attacks, spells or minions. Mobility and the number of buttons you manage matter alongside damage. |
02. Understand the AscendancyRead which mechanics the specialisation rewards. An Ascendancy with little connection to your main skill can make your progression plan harder to support. |
03. Check Starting RequirementsDoes the build require a specific Unique or an expensive interaction? Avoid copying an endgame showcase that provides no workable starting setup. |
04. Separate Progression StagesPlan different priorities for levelling, early maps and advanced endgame. Do not spend every passive point around equipment you cannot obtain yet. |
05. Use a Current BuildCheck the guide’s patch and league. If a key interaction has changed, copying the same equipment list may no longer produce the same result. |
Practical TipAsk three questions before choosing: When does it work, which item is essential, and what do I play until I obtain it? |
