DIABLO IV / GUIDE 05
A striking item is not always an upgrade. Measure what the new piece improves and what your character gives up in return.
01. Identify Your Main WeaknessSlow kills, frequent deaths and resource shortages need different solutions. Decide which problem is blocking progress before searching for equipment. |
02. Read Aspect ConditionsCheck triggers, target conditions and skill compatibility. A powerful effect on paper may rarely activate during your actual rotation. |
03. Assess Defences TogetherReview life, armour, resistances and protective effects as a whole. Reopen character details after changing difficulty instead of assuming the old setup remains sufficient. |
04. Evaluate a Unique’s Trade-offsCompare its special power with the properties you lose. Higher rarity is not enough if the swap removes an interaction your build needs. |
05. Tighten Your Loot Filter GraduallyLearn which upgrades matter before making rules restrictive. An aggressive starting filter can hide useful equipment bases. |
Practical TipTest a new item in a similar fight. Higher damage does not improve your real progression speed if you keep dying. |
Season and Expansion Note(Item effects can change with patches. Compare old Legacy equipment with current drops before treating them as equivalent.) |
